Guide Home Back to Dr. Olivia

October 9, 2026

Every session now has a session panel that shows your study plan and the files Dr. Olivia can see. At the start of a session she asks which of your files to bring in, and files you put away now go to an archive that you can restore from.

New features

  • A session panel beside every conversation. The right side of the screen now shows what your session is working toward and what Dr. Olivia can see. Your study plan is at the top, the transcript is in the middle and your files are at the bottom. In an audio-only call the transcript fills the screen and the plan and files sit in a panel of their own. The text chatbot has the same panel. On a phone or a narrow window, open it with the tab on the right edge.

  • Start on your study plan with one click. Your active study plan is shown at the top of the panel. Press Work on this plan, or double-click the card, and Dr. Olivia picks it up from where you left off. The request appears in the conversation like anything else you say. If you don't want to work on the plan today, don't click it.

  • Choose which files come into a session. If you have files saved, Dr. Olivia asks at the start of each session whether to bring them in. You can bring all of them, choose some, or bring none. Any file you leave out goes to your archive. This makes sure she isn't answering from an old worksheet when you meant to ask something else.

  • An archive for files you put away. Files you remove are kept in your archive, whether you removed them with the ×, left them out at the start of a session, or they passed the 180-day limit. Open it from the box icon in the Files section and press Restore to bring a file back, with nothing to upload again.

  • Faculty: your files in the panel too. Files you upload are listed in the panel in your own sessions, so a draft exam or syllabus you uploaded last week doesn't stay in Dr. Olivia's view unnoticed.

  • Your own dashboard on the selection page. Below the conversation modes there is now a dashboard about your studying. It shows how many sessions you have had, the questions you have asked and the days you have studied, your practice quiz scores, your active study plan, and the topics your sessions have covered. Click a topic to start a practice quiz on it.

  • See your recent practice quizzes, and retake them. Your last five quizzes are listed with their scores. Retake gives you a fresh set of questions on the same subjects.

Enhanced features

  • A tidier session history. Past sessions on the selection page are grouped into This week, Last week and then by month. Each one shows the topics it covered, and the list starts with your ten most recent sessions, with Show more for the rest.

  • A shorter selection page. The general notes that used to fill the bottom of the page are now one short notice about using Dr. Olivia responsibly. The fuller explanations are in the user guide.

  • Your files are always on screen. The list of uploaded files used to sit in a strip under the avatar toolbar or above the chatbot's message box, and it was easy to miss. It now lives in the Files section of the session panel. In the text chatbot, the space above the message box now shows only the files attached to the message you are about to send.

  • Attach a saved file to your next message (text chatbot). Hover over a file in the panel and press the paperclip. Your next question will be about that file, with no need to upload it again.

  • Uploading a file you archived brings it back. If you upload a file that is already in your archive, it is restored instead of stored a second time.

Bug fixes

  • Guided-assignment progress now shows in avatar sessions. In a guided assignment on the avatar, the checklist of what you have shown so far was meant to appear at the top of the transcript, but it never did. It appears now. The text chatbot was not affected.
  • "View All Materials" now appears in avatar sessions. The button that gathers every source Dr. Olivia used in a session was missing from the avatar transcript. It now appears under the transcript once she has cited something.

Things to know

The × on a file no longer deletes it. It moves the file to your archive. Open the archive with the box icon in the Files section to bring a file back. Files left out at the start of a session, and files older than 180 days, go to the archive too.
