Practice quizzes load faster, and Dr. Olivia is better with your Canvas courses. When you ask about your course she looks it up instead of offering to. She can read your course home page and list its pages, and she stays connected to Canvas for the whole session.
New features
- Partner schools on their own Canvas. Students at a partner school that runs its own Canvas can now sign in with that Canvas account and use Dr. Olivia. Their sessions, notes and course lookups work just as they do for PHSU students.
- Ask about your course home page and its pages. Dr. Olivia can now read a course's home page and list every page in the course. Try "What's on the home page for Physio II?" or "What pages does this course have?"
Enhanced features
- Shorter wait for your first quiz question. Opening a practice quiz could leave you watching the "writing questions" screen for a long time before anything appeared. Quizzes now use a newer model that is tuned for a quicker turnaround, so the first question shows up sooner. The rest of the quiz still arrives while you work through it.
- She answers instead of offering. Ask "Are there any modules?" or "Can you list them?" and Dr. Olivia now goes to Canvas and gives you the answer. Before, she would sometimes reply "I can pull that up if you'd like" and wait for you to ask again.
- Follow-up questions about your course just work. If you ask about something she looked up earlier in the conversation, such as a module list, a grade or a due date, she checks Canvas again. Before, she would sometimes say she didn't have that information.
- Clearer answers about Canvas pages. When a page is empty, Dr. Olivia now says so, and when a page is locked for you, for example because it hasn't opened yet, she tells you why. She no longer guesses at a page's contents from its title.
- Canvas stays connected for long study sessions. Your Canvas connection now renews itself in the background, so course lookups keep working however long you study. You no longer need to sign out and back in.
Bug fixes
- Canvas lookups no longer fail at random. A question about your courses, grades or assignments could sometimes fail part-way through a conversation even though you were signed in. That no longer happens.
- Repeat image requests are quick again. When you or a classmate ask for a diagram that has already been made, Dr. Olivia is meant to show the earlier picture straight away. Since September 10 she was drawing every image from scratch, which took longer. Images made from now on are reused again.
- A clearer message when your school's Canvas has a problem during sign-in. Before, that page said your sign-in link had expired, which wasn't true. It now says what went wrong and what to do. See Things to know below. </content> </invoke>
Things to know
If signing in stops at a page that says We Couldn't Finish Signing You In, your school's Canvas had a problem while we were setting up your access. It is usually temporary. Wait a few minutes and press Start Over. If it keeps happening, let us know through Getting Help.
