New features

• Dr. Olivia now remembers you between sessions. Until now, the only thing Dr. Olivia carried between visits was a summary rewritten after every session — and rewriting it each time gradually wore the detail away. She now keeps individual notes that stay on your record until they're resolved, so something she learned about you in your first year is still there in your third.

  Notes cover specific concepts you've struggled with or mastered, how you work through problems, what you're aiming at, and findings from your exams. You should mostly notice it as her not wasting your time: starting at the right level, recognising a pattern you've hit before, and picking up material you'd set aside without you re-explaining the context.

  She can also search back through material that has aged out of her working set, so a topic you met years ago resurfaces when you return to it. Full detail in the What She Remembers guide.

  Two things to know. Guided assignments are excluded — Canvas assignment work doesn't enter her memory and won't shape your open tutoring sessions. And nothing is stored word for word; notes are observations, not transcripts.

• Faculty and student services can add notes. Exam analysis, advisory flags and faculty observations can now be written onto a student's record from outside a tutoring session, so Dr. Olivia can act on context she'd otherwise never see.

  These notes are staff-only. They shape how she works with the student — her pacing, her tone, what she chooses to probe — but she will not quote them, paraphrase them, or acknowledge them, including when asked directly.

  Faculty also get their own memory record, separate from any student's, holding working context that persists between sessions. A note a faculty member records about a student goes onto the student's record with the faculty member as its author.

• (Admin) Memory administration page. A new Memory tab in the admin area shows any student's full record grouped by topic, including entries that have been retired — which is where the answer to "why does Dr. Olivia think this?" usually lives. Staff-only notes are flagged clearly.

  Retention is handled here too: archive a student's active notes to stop them shaping future sessions while keeping the history, or delete an entry permanently. Deletion is only available on this page — Dr. Olivia can retire a note but can never remove one, and every deletion is written to the audit trail.

  A second tab reports the nightly maintenance pass, including near-duplicate notes and how similar they are. Those are reported rather than merged for now, so the threshold for merging can be chosen from real data instead of guessed.
