Guide Home Back to Dr. Olivia

September 10, 2026

Dr. Olivia can now build you a study plan and remember it between sessions, picking up where you left off instead of starting over. She also remembers more of what you tell her without being asked. Plus: you can watch a quiz being written rather than waiting on a spinner, and a quiz that fails says so.

New features

  • Ask Dr. Olivia for a study plan. Tell her what you are preparing for and how long you have — "my biochem exam is in two weeks and it's mostly acid-base buffers, can you build me a five day plan?" — and she will build one with you, working backwards from the date.

The plan then stays with her. You do not have to save it or paste it back next time: she opens the next session on the part you have reached, and when you tell her you have finished a section she moves you on. If the plan stops fitting, say so and she will rebuild it around the time you actually have. See Study Plans in the guide.

  • She remembers what you tell her, without being asked. Mention that your exam is in March, or that a particular concept keeps catching you out, and it stays on your record for next time. Previously she only kept something if you asked her to make a note of it, which meant most of what you told her was lost at the end of the session.

Enhanced features

  • You can see the quiz being written. Writing a set of exam-standard questions from your session takes longer than pulling them off a shelf, so the wait now tells you what is happening rather than showing a spinner that never changes — reviewing what you covered, building the clinical case, choosing the answer choices, checking each question.

It is not decoration. Those are the actual steps, and they are the reason the questions are about your session rather than a generic topic.

Bug fixes

  • A quiz that fails now says so. Previously, if question generation failed, the loading indicator simply kept spinning on a quiz that was never going to arrive, and the only way out was to close it and guess what had happened. You now get a clear message and a Try again button.

  • Greetings open on your plan. If you have a study plan running, the greeting that opens your session names the next step rather than asking where you would like to start.

  • More reliable personalised greetings. The greeting Dr. Olivia opens a session with is written fresh while you are still on the selection screen, drawing on your last session. Intermittently that generation was failing before it started, and the session quietly fell back to a generic greeting instead.

Fixed — so the greeting that opens your session should now reliably be the one written for you.

Things to know

Study plans and what Dr. Olivia remembers are being rolled out gradually, so you may not see them in every session yet. If she suggests a plan step you have already finished, just tell her in the session and she will move you on.
